Santos Road

Situated within a handsome Victorian family home in Santos Road, SW18, this renovation sought to unify a previously fragmented layout characterised by numerous level changes, small rooms and disconnected circulation spaces. The design aspiration was to create a more open, cohesive and intuitive home while celebrating the property’s original period character. Drawing inspiration from Contemporary English Country interiors, a consistent palette of natural materials, warm timbers, soft textiles and heritage detailing was introduced throughout. Particular attention was given to the top floor bedroom and bathroom suite, creating a calm and cohesive retreat that felt intrinsically connected to the architecture of the house. At lower ground level, significant undercroft space was reclaimed to dramatically improve functionality, transforming an undersized bathroom and fragmented arrangement into a generous family bathroom, a sophisticated home office and a concealed guest washroom hidden behind artwork. The result is a refined family home that respects its Victorian heritage whilst delivering a brighter, more connected and highly functional living environment tailored to modern living.
